Edit: THIS IS HIS ACTUAL FACE RIGHT NOW: gyazo.com/1e7b1a38ae44a3c09d6b…

Temporarily gonna use the new app for this one and once I put up the new one, I'll replace it with the old app again! Just for the sake of memories. :iconhnnghplz: I'll update just a few info to suit his fourth year too, but I'll add new details on the new app. Dun kick me out :iconbawplz:

Look who's revamping when the year is almost ending! It is a much needed revamp because the old art was too funny.
Nothing much was revamped other than art and a few information anyway (just age, stuff, yanno, stuff zzz). Little Kim has evolved into A Little Bigger Kim!
Some details have just been "updated", but they won't be changed much until next year's revamp because I'm a lazy bugger I'm a lazy bugger.

Wand Ingredients
• Core: Dragon Heartstring
• Length: 11 1/2 inches
• Wood: Cedar
• Flexibility: Slightly Springy

Spells:
• Disarming Charm - Expelliarmus
  • Causes the target's wand to fly from their hand. With sufficient power behind it, a Disarming Charm may throw a victim back forcefully. Disarming Charms are mutually off-setting - when cast against each other, they generally deflect. The Disarming Charm is also an effective counter to many spells.
• Shielding Charm - Protego
  • Creates a shield from the caster's wand which deflects jinxes, hexes, and curses. The strength of this spell is directly connected to the skill and talent of the wizard, and stronger versions can protect against very advanced curses - or even reflect failed jinxes back against the attacker.
• Stinging Hex - Unknown
  • Causes the victim to suffer an intense and painful stinging sensation, which - much like real stings - causes swollen red welts to appear over the surface of the skin.
• Stunning Spell - Stupefy
  • Debate rages as to whether this is a charm, a jinx, or a hex - but it is considered one of the basic dueling spells. It temporarily stuns an opponent, rendering them inert for a few precious seconds.

Elective Classes:
• Ancient Runes
• Arithmancy
• Care of Magical Creatures

Extra Curricular:
• Music/Muggle Music
• Quidditch - Chaser

Kim Leatherby

|| Personal Information

Personality:

:bulletyellow: + Simple || Civil || Daring || Hard-working || Adventurous
:bulletorange: = Gullible || Curious
:bulletred: - Blunt || Easily Distracted || Willful || Whimsical || Stress-prone

Being entirely new to the wizarding world, Kim is very humble when it comes to most things. He rarely boasts about his achievements and whatsoever (other than his amazing grandmother who can bake the best cookies ever), and is mostly polite with his peers. He loves the fun and good in things, and doesn't have problems with dealing with people (most of the time). He also mostly easily believes in people and whatever they have to say as long as they don't sound too ridiculous. He can easily believe that you're a prefect, a quidditch captain, that there's a goblin downstairs that grants wishes when you pluck his eyebrows, etc. He likes listening to things about magic as well, since most of his life he's been living with muggles, and the fact that there are things out there that are different from the ordinary excites him to no end.

Kim likes to think that he is a practical man. He's mostly careful about his actions but there are times that the reckless little boy in him arises, and the curiosity wins over logic sometimes. He's willing to try out new things for the sake of experience, and though he claims he knows what and what wouldn't take his life... well, he really doesn't.

Sometimes, Kim can have these short fits of uncontrollable rage especially when he's stressed. There's a small perfectionist side in him that's always not satisfied with whatever he's doing, and due to that, some things are changed last minute and he immensely dislikes last-minute change. It clashes with his way of dealing with things since he has a bad habit of changing decisions to what he wants to happen instead of thinking objectively sometimes. He hates himself the most at times like these since he's prone to snap at people, but he immediately apologizes when he calms down.

Background:

tl;dr Kim's father had only discovered that his mother was a witch when he was three years old. They stayed with each other for a while until they couldn't take judging each other and decided to take some time off each other. Kim was left with his father, who, in turn, often left him with his grandparents, whom he loves very much. He had a normal, muggle life up until he received a letter from Hogwarts on his 11th birthday. Initially, his father, being the skeptical man that he still is, didn't want him to go, but after being convinced by his wife that it was better for Kim and his control over his powers and that it was all for his own safety, he reluctantly agreed. Kim's was very much accepting about all this, but his first two years disappointed him since he wasn't really doing his best which resulted to him getting unsatisfied with what he had. Determined to change, he set his eyes on the prize on his third year, vowing that he'll try his extra best from now on.

Childhood: Sam and Ben

Kim was raised by his strict but morally upright grandparents. His mother, Samantha, was a pureblood witch and his father, Benjamin, was muggle. The two fell in love rather quickly, Benjamin being taken quite aback by Samantha's quirky personality. They had gotten married at a rather young age, living quite well under the guidance of Bejamin's parents until one day, Benjamin came home early, hoping to surprise his wife for their first-born child and had accidentally witnessed Samantha being scolded at by a rather peculiar thing: a screaming letter. Samantha, seeing that her husband been watching her mother scream hell at her for neglecting her "witchly duties" once again all that while, definitely had to explain: she was a witch, this letter was what you'd call a "Howler", she wasn't supposed to tell him because they had rules, that was why mom and dad didn't like him at all, she did feel guilty but she just wanted a happy life with him, and the list went on.

Perplexed by this, Benjamin found all this all ridiculous. He was a serious, working man, and he didn't believe these supernatural beings existed... until now, at least, when Samantha had demonstrated a very simple levitation charm right in front of him. It took Benjamin a couple of weeks to get to accept this fact, and when he did, they both agreed to try living with this new discovery, Samantha thinking that there was a chance that they can forget all this, and Benjamin for the sake of the child.

When Kim was born, they really did try to live with it, but Benjamin, being the skeptical man that he is, could not truly accept the fact that is wife was something... not human, and Samantha, quite tired of Benjamin always doubting her every move, couldn't help but feel tired by all this. When Kim reached the age of three, both parents decided that they needed to "take some time off away from each other". Both had agreed that they were not officially splitting up, but both will be living their own ways until they "cooled down". Samantha had agreed to making Kim live with his father, Benjamin insisting that Kim was better off continuing to be ignorant about the other side. From that day on, Benjamin continued working hard for his only child, and since he couldn't really afford getting a maid or anyone to watch over Kim, the child was often under the care of his grandparents.

Childhood: Kim

Kim had rather liked staying with his grandparents. They were a more peaceful bunch than his mother and father, who were... okay, but he didn't really like the fighting. His grandfather was similar to his father, who had a firm, albeit grumpy personality, but he was always there whenever Kim had an event, and he had always supported Kim with his endeavors. His grandmother was an entirely different person from the two. She was as firm as his grandfather, but she was kind and took to taking care of Kim as if he were her own son. She had witnessed most of ups and downs of his life and she was always there for him emotionally. She was basically his mother-figure, and he dearly loved her with all his heart.

He lived a fairly normal muggle life. Occasionally he would make things unconsciously from one place to another, but he paid that no mind and simple believed it was the "zen of life" or whatever spiritual thing the earth had. He had no problems gaining friends, and working hard at school his main goal so he could make his family proud. He had accepted the fact that his mother was quite eccentric with her lifestyle, and had understood early on that his parents "couldn't just get along" and it was none of his business. Sure, he felt quite jealous of other people for having their families intact, but he figured he couldn't be any worse than other people, and with that, he was satisfied. Both still haven't gotten back together, but he was fairly sure they were slowly moving towards the positive scale, as after a few years of splitting, both had decided to visit each other, with Kim tagging along, and have some "family bonding time". It was getting more frequent so Kim was happy at that.

The Letter

On his 11th birthday, he received a peculiar letter. It was addressed to him and had no return address. Finding this odd, he opened the letter and read on. Not really sure of what to do with whatever the heck he was seeing, he had shown this to his grandmother, who in turn, presented the letter to his father. It had been an odd letter with the mention of "magic" and "witchcraftery" of some sort, but since Benjamin had let her in on whatever was happening between them with Samantha, she had no doubt that he knew what to do. She figured wrong.

Benjamin didn't know what to do. Once reading the letter, he had once again called another "family meeting" with Kim's mother and after a month-long argument and explaining to Benjamin that it was crucial for Kim to control his powers, his father was convinced that he may actually need to send the kid to school as to not cause accidents. This may also be a stepping stone for Benjamin to start really accepting that witches and wizards do, in fact, exist. With high hopes for Kim, they sent him off to the train, and Kim bid them farewell.

The First Two Years

Kim was accepted warmly by people at Hogwarts, but since he was all new to this, he didn't do as well as he wanted to on his first and second year. He took magic for granted, thinking it would be easy to simply turn chairs into sofas and make things float on air, and as a result, he didn't fail, but his grades were definitely not spectacular. There was a part of him that wanted to quit and just go back to his usual mundane life, but a part of him didn't want to give up. A part of him told him that this is where he belonged, and the fact that he was performing rather "well" for a "first-timer" made him determined to change himself on his third year. He decided to fix up his act and start acting like the wizard he's supposed to be.

So with a new look, new style, and a new outlook in life, he decisively took the train for the third time in his life and vowed to himself that he would really do better this year.

:bulletred: Hair Colour: His original hair colour is black, but he dyed it brown for a "fresh start" this second year. He also brought his sort-of hat collection.
:bulletyellow: Sports: Kim is rather fond of sports, as he used to be part of the soccer team before he joined hogwarts. He is aiming to join his House's Quidditch team sometime, but he knows he should focus on his studies as well. Edit: He got in! Currently # 3 Chaser
:bulletred: The "Change": Kim, during his first two years at Hogwarts, was slowly turning into a gloomy mess. He wasn't satisfied with what he was getting, and he didn't know a thing about whatever was happening around him. He was too used to living in the muggle world that he had to struggle with a couple of things. Sure, he enjoyed the new knowledge, but it was hard. With his new viewpoint, he determinedly styled his messy hair, changed some of his clothes into something more outgoing, and colored his once-black hair into something else. It was supposed to be something blonde, but it turned out brown, which he's still sometimes frustrated about, but it was okay. It was a new him. Also, unless you "claim to know him before" , he rather dislikes remembering what he had been two years back and avoids talking about it if necessary.
:bulletyellow: Subjects & Magic: He rather likes Charms and learning about spells, and he likes using them in DADA. He also likes using more defensive spells than actual offense.
:bulletred: Girls: He's mostly comfortable talking to girls than guys due to the fact that his group of friends back then were composed mostly of females. He has no problem with most of them as he sometimes (instinctively) acts like a protective brother to them.

:bulletyellow: Classes where he has fun: Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, Divination
